News & PressFind a Keeper – an all-new event series for singles at the Delaney House March 1, 2010
Holyoke, MA – Find a Keeper, a singles night for single men and women 40 and over, debuts Friday, March 12 at 6 p.m. at the Delaney House. The first event will feature live piano music, wine tasting, and concept food stations, where guests can choose from appetizers, a wide assortment of incredible entrees, desserts and coffee – all for only $25. For guests who prefer cocktails over wine, bartenders will be available. Each monthly event will be different to keep it fun and interesting. Outdoor events are planned for warmer weather.
Find a Keeper is designed to be a welcoming, fun event for singles. The concept was created to provide a relaxed, upscale environment for singles to meet and interact.
Says Maureen Sullivan, who created the event series with Connecticut singles event organizer Ira Wettenstein, “Find a Keeper was designed as a comfortable and relaxed way for singles to meet.”
“We provide personal introductions and name tags. Both women and men can feel absolutely comfortable coming alone.”
“You may find a keeper, you’ll meet new friends, but no matter what, you’ll have a great time.”

The Mick Rolls Out Challenge Burger No Charge for Any Individual Diner Who Polishes Off Two-Pound Burger and Fries
The Mick, the casual dining spot at Holyoke’s Delaney House, has introduced The Pounder, a burger big enough to feed a party of four. And with it, The Mick has issued a challenge: Dinner is free for any individual diner who can polish off the burger, bun, mountain of fixings and gigantic side of French fries.
Available on the menu for The Mick’s Tuesday burger night, the pounder is priced at $25 and offers more than enough food to satisfy four hungry diners.
The Pounder includes a two-pound burger patty, topped with eight slices of cheese, eight slices of bacon, lettuce and tomato, served on a focaccia round with a side of pickles and a pound of fries. It rounds out a menu that also includes cheeseburgers, turkey burgers, veggie burgers, a fish sandwich and, during the build-up to St. Patrick’s day, the Parade Day Burger, a classic burger topped with Swiss cheese, corned beef and sauerkraut.
